Fall Break Week 1

I have been waiting and waiting for Fall Break to begin. Two whole weeks with Carson at home with us, no school... no schedule....just fun! I have had fun stuff planned for us to do every day while he was home. Oh we have enjoyed having our C Man home with us.

Day 1 - Spicewood Springs Park

This is one of my favorite Austin parks to go to, but its not close and its not the kind of park that you stop by on your way home and play for 30 minutes. This is a pack a lunch, stay for a couple of hours kind of place. Without Brooke's nap we would've stayed for a really long time.

Occupying a lot of our time is the swings. All of my kids love, love, love to swing and it is so much fun to watch them. There were only 3 swings in the park and we hogged them for a really long time. I made Carson and Camilla trade off between the big swing and the baby swing. Apparently 5 is not too old to swing in the baby swing.

Carson spent a lot of his time on the money bars, over and over again. When it was getting time to go I had the kids come and lay with me in the grass and just look at the sky and talk. I love my kids.

Day 2: Mt. Playmore

There is this new place that opened up pretty close to our house with a huge indoor climbing, crawling, jumping, swinging playscape. It was a lot of fun and we met a friend of Carson's from school. The kids had a blast and again we only left because their baby sister has to nap.

Day 3: Gymnastics and the pool

We went to Millie's gymnastics class and she was so excited to show Carson all her stuff.

Then we had planned to go to the pool that afternoon, got all ready and drove up and it had closed...the day before. Bummer! What's a mom to do but take everything to the backyard and bust out the water hose. The kids were still very excited and had a lot of fun.

Brooke didn't last very long on the trampoline so I brought her in for a bath in her swimsuit.

Then she got all messy again eating our green spaghetti for dinner. (I was carb loading)

Day 4: Grandma's House!!

Then on Thursday after a very exciting dance class, we drove to Grandma and Grandpa's house, which was the pinnacle of excitement for our weekly activities. The kids were so good in the car and practically had a panic attack for me to open the doors faster when we got there. They immediately started running and playing.

Still to come... Grandma and Grandpa's house, St. George Marathon, and week 2.

We have been very busy!
