Drew Adam Pierson!!

We are so excited about our newest nephew who was born on Wednesday, Drew Adam Pierson. We haven't seen him yet but are going to spend time with him after our cruise. We are so excited to see him and our sweet niece Abby. My sister-in-law, Cassie, had a C-section and is doing great (as can be seen in the pictures). He looks just as perfect as can be and his family feels so blessed to have him here. His older sister is just in love with him, everyday "I love you baby Drew, I love you." He is one very lucky baby.

Cookie Deliciousness

Hey all I've had a few requests for this AMAZING cookie recipe that I found. Seriously it is so, so, so good. You will love it, I promise. I made them on Monday and am making them again tonight, we can not stop eating them!! (Jalei, feel better that you guys aren't the only ones :) I originally planned on sharing some with my brother-in-law but couldn't bare to part with them (how horrible am I?). So I'm making more tonight to see if I can recover some of my sharing genes. Enjoy! and my pregnant friends Enjoy twice as much!

Snickers Cookies

½ c. sugar
½ c. firmly packed brown sugar
½ c. butter, room temperature
½ c. creamy peanut butter
1 tsp vanilla
1 egg
1 ½ c. flour
½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt
30 mini sized Snickers candy bars (about one bag)

In large bowl, combine sugar, brown sugar, butter, and peanut butter. Add vanilla and egg. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt and add to peanut butter mixture. Shape dough smoothly around each candy bar, making sure the bar is completely covered, without having a lot of excess dough. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350°, check at 12 minutes, and take out when they are slightly golden. Cool a minute or so and remove from cookie sheets. Delicious served warm.

*My changes: I only had enough dough for 24 cookies not 30...I tend to eat a lot of dough before they make it in the oven and we like big cookies.

Salt Lake City Half Marathon

On Saturday I ran in the Salt Lake City half marathon. It was my first time to run in this particular race and it was so beautiful. I got to see so many parts of the area that I haven't really seen before. The weather was perfect and the hills weren't too bad (which for Utah is great) and I came in 9 minutes under my goal time! I had so much fun, I always love all the random people lining the streets to cheer you on. Aaron just followed me around and met me every few miles where I would run by give him a high five and keep on going. He was so great. Then we partied at the finish line with more food than you can imagine. I felt like a wimp when we split from the marathon runners but then at the finish line couldn't of been happier that I didn't have another 13.1 miles to go!

Here we are at the post-run party. (Notice the chocolate milk in our hands and Aaron's stuffed pockets with cookies, granola bars, etc. )

This is right after I crossed the finish line and found Aaron.

Flava Flav!

Yes the rumors are true. We did win our final inner tube waterpolo game last night to take the championship. It was an intense final game but in the end we were victorious. Everyone played really well and we had so much fun. It was the perfect way to finish Aaron's last day of classes at BYU ever. I can't believe he is done with classes, just a week of finals and we are done, yay! Let the summer fun begin. I keep talking like I'm still a student saying, Oh this summer I am going to work on this...or this summer we can...when in actuality my life doesn't change anymore with the seasons. I have been begging Aaron to let me just work part time for the summer. I'm like me at part time and you at part time = one full time job. That would work, right? :)

A little obsessed...

In case you haven't noticed yet, Aaron and I are a little obsessed with out new nephew. I just got these pictures today and had to put them up. The first is my new favorite picture of Scott and Blake, love it; and the second is my sister in law, Marcie, right after she had the baby- I know she's amazing. I told Aaron he can forget about me looking anywhere near that right after I have a baby. Especially if I am up all night having it like she was.

Blake Kent Pierson!!

On Thursday April the 3rd, our newest nephew was born, Blake Kent Pierson. We are so excited!! We went to the hospital on Friday and mom and baby were doing great. Marcie seriously looked just like she does any other day and Blake is as calm a baby as it gets. He just let all of us hold him, take pictures of him, and he never cried. I could not believe how small he is, he is so tiny. We were in love with him the instant we entered the room. He has a full head of long hair and is just the cutest baby we've ever seen. We went and saw him again on Saturday but now won't see him again for two weeks. His brothers are so excited about him, Scott got worried every time he made a noise - "mom, the Blake needs you, something is wrong." It was so cute and Tyler kept telling Scott that now he has a younger brother he can boss around and he's not the baby anymore. There is just something so sweet about a brand new baby, I love it!

Can you be addicted to ice cream?

So I just wanted to share the funniest story that Aaron told me the other day. So Cory (my little brother) and Aaron were talking the other day about addictions and how people become addicted to different things. They discussed how it can be in your genes to be addicted to things and how some people more naturally become addicted to stuff (bad and good). Cory talked about how addicted he is to Coke (seriously if you know my brother you know how much Coke he consumes, its unreal- in Mexico we were at this all inclusive resort and Cory would order trays, that's right TRAYS of cokes). Then how he thinks our family has that natural tendency. Well Aaron is like, "I don't think Haley has that." Cory (laughing) says, "um...ice cream. Have you ever met ANYONE who eats as much ice cream as she does?" And then, this is my favorite part, Aaron AGREES with him.
People is it so wrong to eat ice cream every day? Does that really constitute an addiction? So I looked up the definition of addiction:

the state of being enslaved to a habit or practice or to something that is psychologically or physically habit-forming, as narcotics, to such an extent that its cessation causes severe trauma.

Well after reading that it was easy to decide... yes, yes I am addicted to ice cream.

For my freshmen friends

Well and anyone else who is interested to know, but especially my David John girls. I went to lunch with Kelsey Yorgason (now Kamauu) and it was so fun. She doesn't live very far from my work so it was easy to meet up and go to lunch. She brought her beautiful (and I mean BEAUTIFUL) daughter - Lauren. She looks like Kelsey, but also Kia. I'll put a picture, she has blue, blue eyes. Kelsey looks great, she has really long hair and she just stays at home and teaches a few dance classes. Here's a picture of Lauren:

In other random freshmen relatings, Deborah's little brother Andrew (yes the one that was in high school and on a mission) is married and in my ward. I just barely made this discovery in ward council when their name came up. I was like Yorgason, I know lots of Yorgasons. I haven't talked to him yet but I am going to start keeping my eye out for him in sacrament.

Other than these exciting things, life is going great. Easter was fabulous, we spent it in Kayesville with Aaron's brother's family and I had so much fun making Easter baskets for the kids. I am still enjoying eating Easter candy :) We are remaining very busy with our intramural teams in playoffs right now, I about lost it at Aaron's last game (I need to lower the intesity level in my life) and trying to get together with everyone before people move away at the end of the semester. We are also getting excited for a new newphew who should be born tomorrow (yay!) and General Conference this weekend. Life is just so great right now, especially with the warm weather coming!
