Grandma and Grandpa Pierson

We were very lucky and got a visit from Aaron's parents for a few days. The kids had so much fun while they were here.

I'm not sure if there are any studies linking protein powder and childhood problems but if so Spencer is headed down that road. He LOVES my protein shakes and cries for them.

The kids did swimming with their Grandparents. We ate dinner outside and watched them swim, the water is still really cold but the kids love to get in for a few minutes.

Camilla is always the first one out. she gets pretty cold.

I had a long run while they were here and I was tired from a long week and had a tough run but then I turned around and saw the sunrise and couldn't believe how beautiful it was. I sure am lucky to have that time each Saturday morning to run. I really enjoy it.

Aaron and his Dad went to a golf tournament while he was here. It was a match play world championship. Aaron said the course was amazing and they had a lot of fun.

While they were gone I hosted another baby shower. Aaron's Mom was a saint and took all the kids to the park while I had people at the house. They had so much fun, she packed lunch and they played for a couple of hours.

I'll tell you what's not easy, carrying two girls up the stairs on your back after running 18 miles. :)

Grandma and Grandpa took us out to dinner and played games and read books to the kids. The book without pictures was the number one hit while they were here.

Then on Monday before they left they went to lunch with the big kids and took Brooke to preschool. Camilla picked her friend Colter to eat with her. She said, "he's never gotten picked before." Love that girl.

Carson with Jax and Enock, of course. His guys.

And this was Brooke's face after I picked her up from school and told her Grandma and Grandpa were gone. We will miss them! She felt a little better when I told her that we were going to see them this summer.

American Ninja Warrior

So my friend Jamie got picked to compete on American Ninja Warrior again this season. We lucked out and the taping was in San Antonio. It ended up being on a Sunday evening and it would be a very late night, so Aaron and I decided it would just be Carson and me who got to go. So Carson and I left straight from church and made the drive down. Carson was so excited to go! It was finally a special date for just me and my boy. We even left baby Spencer at home, he did great.

We ended up having to wait several hours before we got in. While waiting the kids played games and laughed and we did some ninja star gazing.

Finally we got in and they were handing out POM wonderful. Carson was ecstatic.

We had so much fun watching all the competitors. We cheered as loud as we could for Jamie and loved watching the fire in her eyes when she was out there. My friend Jamie is a competitor, plain and simple.

We stayed until about 1 AM and Carson and I were starving. So we hit up Whataburger on the way home for cheeseburgers, french fries and milkshakes. Suddenly I was in high school again. :)

Carson was perfect, absolutely perfect the whole time. We had so much fun. He fell asleep on the way home and then went to bed when we got home. He was pretty exhausted for a couple of days (I was too) but it was worth it. Such a fun night!

Spring Break

We had a lovely Spring Break. I sure love having 2 whole weeks off with my cuties in the spring time.

We finally got around to snapping a picture of Aaron and Carson with their Book of Mormon reading charts. I sure love these boys and I am so proud of them.

And just because she's the cutest thing ever and Aaron is still sporting his beard.

We all spent a lot of time taking pictures of Spencer. Oh man did I love having a bunch of helping hands with the baby for 2 weeks.

We also had a whole lot of birthday parties. One was at a park nearby and the kids loved it. They had so much fun coloring with the chalk and painting and eating lots of fruit.

Oh man I am crazy about this boy. Kind of obsessed.

Another birthday at a friend's house. Bounce houses for the win!

And this is what two birthday parties looks like in one day.

We must have watched Sing 20 times and I was living the good life having Carson handle my day to day errands, taking Josie for runs and cleaning the pool.

Lots of lazy mornings. Oh how I love not having anywhere to be in the morning.

Then we were off to go camping with our friends, the Baldwins and the Petersons. We had so.much.fun. The kids just ran around playing with their friends the whole time and we just loved it. We cooked out by the fire, ate lots of s'mores and stayed up late talking.

We loved watching Carson and Simon take off on their bikes and disappear for awhile.

One thing we did not do well is sleep. Our air mattress is a goner. Aaron got a little snooze in the hammock. Life is not bad.

Before we left we decided to rent some canoes and kayaks. The Dads took turns taking the kids out and they all loved it.

We did lots of playing in the mud and water.

I so needed this trip to recharge and focus on my little loves. Sometimes you have to get away from it all to focus on what you love the most.

Rain, rain go away

I swear it has been raining for weeks here. I mean I know we need it and its good but man I get tired of the rain. Any time the sun comes out I feel like we have to escape outside and soak it up.

I took the kids on a walk one morning and Brooke decided she wanted to try riding her balance bike. Slowest. Walk. Ever. I finally had to put it on the side of the road and pick it back up on the way back. "what if someone takes my bike?" wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. :)

This means we do lots of cuddling inside and lots of puzzles and book reading, oh and playing family. Brooke is always the Mom.

Just in case you thought Camilla had outgrown her wanting to be scratched phase, well she hasn't.

The rain couldn't slow down Marco's birthday party this weekend. The kids had a blast (the parents endured). They rented a boat and the kids had a great time riding on it. They didn't mind getting wet one bit.

Carson even swam, crazy boy, it was cold!

The rest of the crew just got their feet wet.

Camill and Azzie underneath a tarp. It was a pirate party.

Marco was the captain and took everyone on the boat rides.

Everyone came home for warm showers, dry clothes and a movie night. One of the good things about the rainy weather is it makes it perfect for lounge clothes and netflix.

Oh and cupcakes. We had some friends over for dinner and one of them brought a dozen cupcakes from this bakery I have been wanting to try in East Austin. Each cupcake weighed about 2 pounds and they were every bit as delicious as they look.
