Port Aransas

Our little family decided to take a trip to Port Aransas by Corpus in May while Aaron was on his break from school. I have been wanting to go down there since we moved to Austin but I could never spend the money then we found this killer deal on a one bedroom condo on the beach and we just jumped on it. I am SO glad we did. We had such a great time and it was so fun to take a trip just our little family. Millie was not the best sleeper on this trip but we made it through that and the kids did great. We spent our whole days at the beach, playing in the sand, swimming in the ocean, riding the waves and playing in the sun. Then after Camilla's nap we swam in the pool and then got ready to go out to dinner every night. That was our schedule everyday and we never got tired of it.

We packed the cooler full of food every morning and spend the day eating it. Aaron made sure we were fully stocked with appropriate beach food, like cookies, candy bars, and soda.

Camilla was much braver in the ocean than Carson. He was often found running away from the waves.

We went and walked the pier and Carson loved seeing the waves from a distance. He was still a little worried they might get us.

Our sweet family. I am so glad we did this this year because next year we'll have the baby and that would be much harder to pull off.

We did s'mores one night, fun s'mores, like with twix and stuff.

Eating out for our fancy dinner. I did actually start to get tired of fried shrimp even though it tasted amazing every time.

We were sad to see our trip end and I just feel like our kids were at perfect ages for enjoying a trip like this. I love that we have so much fun together.

Haircuts

The time finally came. This little girl's hair needed a serious trim. Her Daddy was loving on her curls but it was just too patchy and uneven. I finally convinced him that it was time to cut the hair. So all three of my favorites got hair cuts. Carson's hair had also gotten very long and it was with heavy hearts that we also cut off his beautiful blonde curls. My baby girl's first hair cut. I never thought this day would come. :)

So much hair..tears...

Austin Zoo

So I had this list of things I wanted to do while Aaron was off school and we really did a lot of it. One of them was use my groupon to the Austin zoo. Now the Austin zoo is special, its just so Austin. All the animals are rescued and its all outdoors. It is pretty small and very different from the Dallas and Ft. Worth nice zoos that I have grown accustomed but it suited our little ones just fine. They were very excited about the whole thing and loved running around looking at all the animals.

One of the cool things you can do is buy food to feed the goats, deer, and llamas. Carson thought this was great. He had so much fun feeding all the animals and wasn't scared at all. Millie thought she wanted to feed the animals but ended up throwing the food to them instead. This was Carson's very favorite part of the zoo.

We also opted for the train ride which was fun. It was a small train and we went out in the wooded area around the zoo. Camilla really loved the train.

Music Class

This year Carson participated in a music class that he absolutely loved with a friend of ours, Emily. She was such a great teacher and Carson looked forward to his class each and every week. Carson talked about Miss Emily all week long and asked every morning if it was Friday. I had so much fun taking him to class. He started working on the piano and learning his notes and other instruments. At the end of the year he had a recital and oh my goodness. He was so shy. He wouldn't go up there and wouldn't even let us take pictures of him afterwards. He completely fell into Aaron and wouldn't participate. It was hilarious but it was still fun to be a part of his first recital. We are very proud of how hard he worked all year in his class and did his homework each week.

Super Heroes

One of our favorite games these days to play is super heroes. The kids both love to rescue each other and us with kisses, hugs, and their magic wands. Daddy is especially fun to play this with because he comes up with all sorts of new, fun scenarios where we need to be rescued. "Super Carson and Super Millie to the rescue", I do love hearing that.
