A Lesson Learned

So my marathon training has come to an end and so amazingly... our Saturday mornings are open. So we decided to go for a hike early Saturday morning before Carson's soccer game. Well my friends had told me about this great hike that was really pretty and kid friendly. Well we started on the hike and people kept saying that we were really adventurous for doing this with kids. The hike was kinda tough and I didn't notice any water. Turns out we had started the hike on the wrong end! So I ran back, with Brooke on my back, to get the car and meet Aaron and the Cs at the other end.

It was a long, hard hike and the kids did great. We did find some water to play in.

Josie of course had a blast.

Brooke was a trooper.

Slow and steady.

Well sweet Carson was waiting the whole time for the waterfall. Of course the waterfall was on a different path, ya know the kid friendly pretty one. I owe this boy a waterfall. So our new plan is to go back, start at the pond with the ducks and the fish and the turtles and then go on the 2 mile easier hike to the waterfall. We sure love living in Austin with all the beautiful things to do.

After all that hiking we ended up missing half of Carson's soccer game. :( But that didn't slow the C man down. He made up for lost time and played like a mad man. He was hustling, scoring goals, playing defense and having a lot of fun.
