On the Road Again

Soon after we returned from our trip to Arlington, the kids were on the road again with Aaron and his sweet parents. They offered to drive Aaron and the kids to San Diego for Jayce's wedding. So they packed their books and colors and of course, swimsuits and hit the road. They were very excited.

There were fun stops along the way at gas stations.

There were lots of fast food stops. Brookey wanted french fries every time.

Aaron got hotels that had pools so the kids could swim.

Grandma read them books and they all went to church together.

Staying in the hotels were very exciting for the kids. They loved sleeping all together, swimming and eating the breakfasts.

I am sure Aaron's parents won't be signing up for 3 days on the road with a group of kids again but they were so nice to do this and I am so glad the kids got to spend this one on one time with their grandparents.

Baby Spencer

I am so in love with this sweet baby boy. I am completely and utterly smitten with him. He has been such a sweet, easy going baby so far. He likes to sleep, eat, and be held and I am happy to hold him any time. I just love this newborn time and hate how quickly it goes by.

He does really well in his car seat and travels well (so grateful for that), he was perfect on the drive to and from Arlington.

And he spends a lot of time on my chest. I just love how they snuggle up on you and oh my goodness, I can't get enough of it.

We took his swing down off the rocker and just use it as his bed. He fits perfectly in it and loves to be all snuggled in.

He continues to keep growing. At his almost 2 week check up he had passed his birth weight and so the doctor was very happy. He has also grown a whole inch. He just keeps growing and growing. He has been a great nurser and I am sure he will just keep growing. He has such a sweet little personality. He doesn't seem to mind being passed from big brother, to big sister, to big brother, back to big sister. He also enjoys going on walks in his carrier and happily does tummy time every day. I'm grateful for a baby who doesn't mind chilling out while I shower or eat lunch. I'm just grateful to have this sweet baby in our family. It just feels so perfect to have him here and as a part of our little family.

Trip from Arkansas

After we got back from Arlington, we were lucky enough to get a visit from Aaron's parents. They arrived to meet baby Spencer and visit. They are being very kind and driving with Aaron and the big kids to California. So Aaron flew home Thursday night and was gone again Saturday morning for Cali. Some day we will spend time together. :)

Friday morning he had a 5 AM meeting and feel asleep afterwards, then these gorgeous faces woke him up.

Grandma and Grandpa spent lots of time outside watching the kids swim.

And of course loving on Josie. They take good care of Josie while they are here.

They took the kids shopping and took them to the children's museum. I was so happy that they took them because that was on my to do list for the week and I wasn't feeling up to taking all 4 kids myself so I was so glad that they wanted to take them. They had a great time.

There was also lots of hanging out and eating ice cream. We are so happy that they could come and visit us. I'm at home alone with Spencer now and the rest of my family made it safely to California. I can't wait to join them tomorrow. I miss them all SO much but I have also enjoyed my alone time with my babe.

Trip to Arlington

We took a trip to Arlington so we could pick up our girls. My parents were the best ever and took Brooke and Camilla to their house for a few days so I could be alone with Spencer while Carson finished school. This was the nicest thing ever to have alone time with my baby and the girls had a blast at Grandma and Grandpa's house. It was a very busy weekend filled with family and friends and we had so much fun. On Friday we hung out with my family and enjoyed seeing our girls again. We had missed them so much.

They were very excited to see their baby brother.

On Saturday the boys went to play golf for my Dad's birthday and then we went to celebrate my Grandmother's birthday with her as well. I was very happy that we got to spend time with Mimi.

Poor Brookey was very tired and fell asleep while we were eating cake.

Then Aaron and my Dad took the kids swimming. They had a lot of fun.

On Sunday we all got together to celebrate how wonderful my Dad is. He is very loved and for a very good reason. He is the most unselfish, kind person you have ever met. I sure have fun hanging out with everyone.

And Ambyr stopped by to visit. It is always a good time when Ambyr comes over. We just talked and laughed for a long time.

Then on Monday it was Memorial Day. The Spitzers had one of their famous parties and my kids loved every second of swimming, slip 'n sliding, snow coning, and eating.

Life is pretty good.

Then Tuesday morning came and Aaron flew back to NYC...real tears, I drove back to Austin (by myself with all 4 kids - we survived!), and we settled back into our house.

Carson's last day of school

So its official. My boy is a second grader. I cannot believe we have finished two whole years of school. We were so nervous to have him start Kindergarten and now he's grown up so much. A big change for Carson this year is how much confidence he has gained. We have been so lucky for him to have the best teacher and we have been so happy with his little school. We sure love this 6 year old boy and think he is the greatest kid ever.

His teacher had a small awards day and gave an award to each child in the class. Carson got the math fact master award. Everyone in the class knew he was going to get the award as soon as she started describing it. He is one smart boy! We are so proud of how hard he has worked this year and that he is a good friend and a leader in the classroom. We love you Carson.

The end of another soccer season

Spring Soccer has come to an end. Both our kids were on great teams had a fun season.

This was Carson's 5th season of soccer and he especially liked playing goalie. He had great coaches and a very fun team.

This was Camilla's second season and she sure loves having her Dad as the coach. I loved this soccer team. They were so much fun to watch each week.

Aaron really is the best coach ever!

Father/Son campout

Carson and Aaron had their Father and Son campout this weekend. Carson was so excited to go camping with just Dad. They got to stop at the store on the way out and he got to pick out all the food and yummy treats. They got to the campsite and got all set up and the fun began.

Playing soccer.

Hot dogs and soda makes for a happy boy.

They played and played for hours.

With his best bud, Simon.

They got to stay up very late - until midnight and consumed many s'mores and had a great time. Carson was very tired but they got up in the morning early to eat breakfast, pack up and get home in time to get to soccer games. Both Father and Son look forward to this campout all year long. It won't be long until Spencer will be joining them.
