We had such an exciting day last week, we got snow!! I am not sure when the last time we got snow in Austin was but its been several years. The kids were so excited they could hardly stand it.
They first ran out in shorts and t shirts but after a few minutes decided they may actually need to wear some real clothes.
Carson and Camilla got to stay up late and play in the snow. Then Aaron made them hot chocolate. It was a pretty special night.
They had so much fun running around and throwing snow balls.
They made snowmen and we put them in the deep freezer so we can keep them for awhile.
The next morning when we woke up the snow was still there, the kids' school was cancelled and we spent the whole morning playing in it.
I got out all the gloves, hats, and coats I could find. Spencer even got to wear his boots.
It was such a fun day.
But in true Texas style as the day went on it got warmer and warmer. We went on a walk later that day.
Aaron took the kids to the gym and they played basketball that afternoon.
Then that night Aaron took all the kids out to our friend's house, the Larsens. They have a great house with a lot of land and the kids were in heaven out there. They ran around and played until the sun went down.
They roasted hot dogs and s'mores and ate outside. It was pretty dreamy.
So much fun.
And just like that all the snow was gone and Aaron was back to running on the trails, very wet trails from snow melting.
Snow in Austin, the kids are still talking about it. Such a fun day!!
