Our Contribution to BYU Football

So about two weeks ago tickets went on sale for the Las Vegas Bowl. They sold out very quickly. Aaron and I got on early in the morning and purchased 4 tickets. We got on Ebay, Craigslist, etc. and tickets were selling for a pretty high price so we didn't mind paying $75 dollars each because we thought we could sell them and turn a profit. So as it turns out, no one from UCLA wants to go to the bowl game. Why? because they fired their coach, injured their players, went 6-6 this season, many reasons. So BYU buys a ton of tickets from UCLA, now there is a surplus of tickets. All of the sudden people are selling their tickets way below face value and no one is bidding on Ebay. I start to panic, big time. We could not afford to lose our money on this. Prices keep going down , every day. This week we started to get desperate. So yesterday I bought 2 brightly colored posters and wrote BYU tickets, must sell and my number. 3 minutes later a girl called and bought all 4. It was amazing. Sure we lost some money but not as much as we could have. Aaron says it is our contribution to BYU and we need not worry about making one again for awhile. You are welcome Bronco!

They are not messing around...

So about a month ago Aaron entered into the lottery to get tickets to the MOTAB Christmas concert. He entered like 8-10 different people and we ended up with tickets for Sunday morning (our last choice) but we were still excited to go. So as it turns out getting a seat at this concert is worse than General Conference (sad, but true). All the seats were full, Aaron and I got moved to the floor on the very far side so we couldn't see the stage but we were at least inside. They were turning people away, it was sad. So after the concert President Hinckley, Monson, and Eyring are leaving and they are literally within my grasp. I have never been that close to the prophet. I was so excited. Not that I would have dreamed of actually trying to touch him-you should have seen the security on that man and they were not messing around. I never notice them really but they are hard core. President Monson said good night to us and Aaron yelled goodnight back, then realizing that it was actually 11:30 in the morning. He was like, "goodnight, that was the best you could come up with Pierson." It was an amazing concert. This is me, Aaron, Spencer, and Rachelle.

We also finished our Christmas shopping this weekend!! Yea!! We can't wait to open presents with everyone. My family gets here on Thursday, we are so excited. I talked to my sister Tricia yesterday and she told me that my niece, Maili, is obsessed with baby Jesus in the Nativity. They have 4 nativity sets and she has hidden the baby Jesus from all 4, my sister has torn the house apart and can't find them anywhere. Maili took them "into the cave" and they are nowhere to be found.

Last night we went to dinner with our friends at Cafe Rio. So I love Cafe Rio and couldn't decide what to get so I got two meals. It kept messing up the line because the workers kept passing me after my first meal and I was like no, wait, they're both mine. When I checked out the guy was like you must be very hungry. There's just too much good food there. (If only I had pregnancy to blame, alas, this is my normal behavior :)

Intramural Champions

Yes its true, I am officially a repeat intramural champion. My coed volleyball team won last night 25-23, 25-17; ending our perfect, undefeated season. I must admit that the shirts are much cooler this year than last year. It was really fun to play, I am going to miss intramural sports. At least I still have soccer, tennis, and water polo next semester.

Aaron has been gone all week getting ready for finals. He literally leaves in the morning and comes home at like 1 or so in morning the next day. I hate being alone. Last night some guy knocked on our door a little after 11 pm. I was about to go to sleep and watched him through the peep hole until he went away. He knocked a few times, I'm sure he was harmless but I was too scared to open the door. (I figured anyone who is looking for me knows not to look after 10:30). Anyways, I am excited for Christmas break when I can have Aaron all to myself again.

Yet amidst his busy studying he still found time to start the 12 days of Christmas with me this morning. He is so cute, I woke up to my first presents this morning. Its funny because I had thought of doing the same thing for him. Seriously, I even started writing out the poems, and then I realized that I couldn't get 12 gifts in the budget we had allotted for our gifts. I am so impressed that he found a way to do it. What a man!

Snow, Snow, Snow

I have come to accept the fact that the snow and cold have begun. November was so beautiful, I was praying that it would last through January, but apparently my faith isn't ready to move mountains :) It is beautiful though. When we woke up on Sunday morning it was on our trees and we snappeda couple of shots. Our next door neighbors built us a snowman on our back porch. Aaron is greatly enjoying throwing snowballs at everyone.

This weekend Jedd and Marcie brought their boys down to visit Grandma Hiatt and on their way back they stopped and visited us for awhile. We had so much fun! As soon as they were gone Aaron started missing them. We are excited that we will get to see them again next weekend. Marcie looks fabulous and she is feeling much better. You would seriously never know she was 5 months pregnant. The boys are so excited for their new little brother.

One Year Later

So one year ago today Aaron and I went on our first date. I can't believe it was just a year ago that I met the most amazing man in the world. For those of you who don't know, Aaron and I got set up on a blind date. (Thank you John Merris). We were a perfect match from the very first date. When Aaron picked me up my jaw dropped, I had not expected to see the cutest boy I had ever seen in my life picking ME up on a date. The first thing I noticed was his amazing smile. We went to Classy Cuisine for dinner and I laughed all night long. As Aaron had to tell his friend who was at the restaurant, "didn't you know I'm hilarious." We had so much fun on our date talking about our missions, our families, and school. And who could forget the amazing marshmallow brownies. I came home from our first date and went up to Stacy's room and just sighed and said, I am hooked, that boy was amazing. I started checking my phone every 30 minutes hoping he would call. And here we are one year later, married and in love. One time when Aaron and I were dating we played the game Loaded Questions. Well one of the questions was if there was a holiday for you what would be the date. Aaron looked at me and said, December 7 th.

Aaron always talks about the first time he saw me and how he felt like he knew me and that he could feel that there was something special about me, about us. He was very right. I love you Aaron, its you that makes me special.

And the Winner Is...

Deloitte! We are so excited. Aaron signed late Friday afternoon and I am so proud of him. He has worked so hard the last five years, well I guess 7 years with those 2 years spent in CA driving off the lot Altimas, not that I'm jealous. After I played in 2 volleyball games, we splurged to celebrate with a dinner to Outback (Aaron didn't want a Christmas present anyway). We are so excited to be moving to Texas at the end of the summer!! We can't wait to be so close to our families, we have missed them so much. So hopefully Aaron can relax this summer before he starts after Labor Day. I couldn't resist snapping a picture of him signing.

Also my sisters-in-law, Amanda and Lindsey, ran in a marathon this weekend. I am so impressed with them. Amanda, mother of 2 and her 4th marathon; and Lindsey, mother of 5 and her 2nd, both finished in just over 4 hours. They are amazing, you can see why I was so intimidated to meet Aaron's sisters before we got married. :) Congrats, y'all are incredible!

Decisions, Decisions

So if any of you know Aaron very well, you know he has a very hard time making decisions. He likes to know everything possible, weigh it out, seek advice, see how he feels, etc., etc. It took him forever to buy us a camera this summer and deciding whether or not to marry me, well that's a story in and of itself. I, on the other hand, am like oh that sounds good, done. With the camera I was like that one is pretty. So tomorrow is the deadline for Aaron to make a decision on which firm he will be selling his soul to for the next couple of years. To his credit, he does have it narrowed down to two but when I asked him last night what he thought he was going to do he said, "um...I don't know, I guess we'll all find out tomorrow." I think he missed the wife part in the whole triangle discussion with his Bishop on marriage. Husband, wife, the Lord. But then again I'm not the one who will be working 70 hours a week while my wife stays at home. I love you baby!

So on Monday I'll be sure to post his decision. Any guesses?? Deloitte or PWC?? My money is on Deloitte.

Oh and while this picture has nothing to do with this post, I find blog entries much more interesting when combined with a picture and I love this picture. :)

So Much to be Thankful For...

So I have wanted to start a blog for forever and always thought I didn't have anything to say that people would actually want to read about, but then I got married and now I have someone who always wants to read what I have to say :) Which brings me to my first entry on being oh so grateful for my fabulous husband. This has been the best 5 months of my life. I'm also very grateful for running shoes, peppermint ice cream, heaters, the internet, and living so close to a temple.

So Thanksgiving was fabulous. We went home to Texas and it was cold!! We were so disappointed, but thanks to Wal-mart, we managed to survive. My mom's side of the family all came and all the nieces and my cute cousin were in love with Aaron. Maili spent the night with us and as soon as she woke up she started asking for him. Then when she said her prayer she said, "thank you for Aaron." She is getting so big. It made me miss little Abby who we will see in 3 weeks.

We also went to see the Cowboys kill the Jets. Aaron actually wore a Cowboys shirt which was a miracle. Maybe after we live there awhile he can be convinced to be a Dallas sports fan. We ate oh so much food, the pumpkin cheesecake was amazing and oh how I love homemade stuffing, and of course tons of Bluebell ice cream. When Aaron asked me what I wanted for dinner on Saturday night I was still full. Sports was a huge part of our Thanksgiving break too. The Cowboys game was awesome. Then Arkansas won in overtime. I jumped up at the end and started screaming. I couldn't believe how attached I felt to the razorbacks after having been a Pierson for only 5 months. Then we went to the BYU/Utah game which was SO much fun. Thanks to Spencer for getting us tickets.

It was such a fun, busy week. I was so sad to return to work on Monday, but have started counting the days until Christmas.
