Puffy Tacos

Have you ever heard of a puffy taco? Well I hadn't until we moved here. People kept talking about how delicious these puffy tacos were. So when a Groupon popped up for a place that made them we jumped on it and tried it out this weekend. Um...delicious. I'm not sure how you make them but they are fried and somehow fluffy. Today for lunch Aaron was so upset we had eaten all our tacos and brought none home to eat as leftovers. Here I am trying them out.

Now normally our kids are well, not fun to take out to eat um, ever but Mexican food our kids LOVE! They just both eat the whole time.

I make no exaggeration here when I say that Carson literally ate a whole basket of tortilla chips and queso himself. It was amazing. He just kept saying more please, more chips please. Somehow he managed to eat his rice and beans and part of his enchilada too. How he does it I don't know... But I can say that these tortilla chips were some of the best I've ever had. You know the ones where the liner of the basket is just covered in grease? So fresh and delicious.

The girls - Love this girl.

Houston

Aaron had midterms at the beginning of the week so we decided to take off for a few days and visit my Dad in Houston. My Mom came up and brought Mia with her and the kids just loved, loved, loved playing with their favorite cousin. Aaron enjoyed a few days of uninterrupted sleep and just being able to focus on his tests. (Aaron takes school very seriously people) While we were in Houston we went to the bounce house, which we had all to ourselves and the kids had so much fun. Camilla even climbed up on the ladder all the way to the top of the big slide and went down. That girl will do anything she sees her brother do.

We also went swimming but I was a wimp and would only swim in the hot tub. The kids all got in the pool but they preferred the hot tub as well. My kids were both so excited to see their Grandma and their cousin and couldn't figure out why they didn't get in the car to come home with us.

Lake Pflugerville

So a couple of weeks ago our stake did a its service project at Lake Pflugerville. Now I couldn't go because you weren't supposed to bring small children, because of the risk with the water; but everyone was talking about what a fun beach it has. So we decided to check it out with a few of our more prepared friends. Since they had all been they knew what to bring and that made is way more fun! It was such a cute lake with a fun beach and best of all - we had the whole place to ourselves. The kids just had so much fun swimming and digging in the "sand." (It was a pebble beach) But they loved chasing the ducks. These ducks were obviously not intimidated of people and wanted the kids to give them some food. Camilla especially wanted to touch them. It was a fun day but we were all so wiped out by the time we left!

High Chair

So Camilla is so obsessed with her high chair lately. She always wants to sit in it, even when we aren't eating. It makes me too nervous to let her play in it since our bar stools are so high so I usually put it on the floor for her to play in and sit in. She loves to buckle herself in. One night I put it on the floor for her to sit in and Carson just couldn't believe that Camilla got to sit in her chair in the living room and the next thing I know I can hear him dragging his bar stool across the room. I let him move it in and then he got to watch a show sitting in his bar stool. He just thought that was the coolest thing.

You know your weights are too light when...

I guess I may need to beef up my game.

"Push Camilla in the Car please."

I hear this every morning when Carson wakes up.

Me: "Do you want breakfast?"

C: "No, push Camilla in the car."

Me: "How about waffles and syrup? Milk?"

C: "No, push Camilla in the car."

Me: "Well you need to put on shoes."

C: "I go get the car, let's go Camilla."

And she follows him right out the door. She climbs
into the car and lets him push her for what seems like forever. This is how I have met all of our neighbors. Hi, yes that is my child pushing his sister up and down your driveway. I really try to encourage him to be active in the driveways of homes I know are empty but that doesn't always work. The kids have been having so much fun going on walks and car pushes every day since we moved. It kinda wears me out and I'm not the one doing all the running and pushing. :)

Labor Day

We had so much fun on Labor Day this year. After a super busy trip down to Arlington for a couple of days I made it back Sunday night just in time for us to enjoy a day off with friends. We went to this small town called Wimberley to a place called Blue Hole. That is something that we have really loved about Austin. There is so much to do outside, so much nature, and our favorite, so many swimming holes. This turned out to be perfect with a shallow end to play and throw rocks in, a small rope swing that Carson went on and a big rope swing to entertain the adults. About 5 or 6 families from our ward went and we stayed all day long. It was so fun to spend time with new friends and have Aaron all day!

Aaron and I checking out the swing:

We ate so much food:

Sweet Camilla even took a nap in the stroller, she was such a trooper:

Camilla having fun in the water:

So funny story. The big rope swing had this big platform that you could run and jump and catch the swing from. So Aaron totally ran and got it on his first try, I tried like 10 times and missed every time, and it was fun to watch. Carson especially loved watching Daddy and Mommy swing. Well one time after Aaron ran and caught the rope I looked over just in time to see him run after him and jump after the rope off the platform! I nearly had a heart attack but he was just happy as can be when he came up out of the water (he had on his life jacket). After that he was hooked and did it every time that Aaron jumped off. Such a fun day! We were all exhausted by the time we made it home.

Sheppard Jeffery Carroll

We are so excited to announce that our newest nephew has arrived. Sheppard Jeffrey Carroll made
his grand arrival on August 30th. He came in style through a natural, water birth. Major props to my sister-in-law, Delaney for giving birth to a baby without drugs. He is just the cutest with a head full of curly hair. I was lucky enough to be the first one to the hospital, making the trip without any stops, and could have held him for hours.

I am so proud of my baby brother. It is still so hard to believe that he has a baby now. Love him!
